A few more details about me

I’m Emma, 26, originally from Oslo, Norway. I've always been someone who enjoys experiencing new places, meeting different people and learning about the world around me. At 16, I moved to Madrid, which was really the start of my international journey. Since then, I've lived in Spain, the UK and Germany, with a move to the Netherlands coming up next.

I've always been drawn to creative things, whether that's design, art, photography, fashion or simply noticing the little details that make something visually interesting. I initially found my way into digital design through my studies in London, where I specialised in web design as part of my degree in Digital Media & Communication. That interest eventually led me to pursue a Master's in UX Design in Spain, where I got to explore the relationship between visual creativity, technology and how people actually use digital products.

Since then, I've had the opportunity to work in quite different environments, from a large media company in Madrid to an international e-commerce business, as well as taking on independent projects of my own. I think having that variety has taught me to be adaptable, open-minded and comfortable stepping into something new. I enjoy having different things to work on, learning as I go and being involved in projects from the initial idea all the way through to the finished result.

Outside of work, you'll usually find me drawing, experimenting in the kitchen, planning my next trip or exploring somewhere new. I love discovering different places, trying new things and finding inspiration in the everyday. I'm probably happiest when I have something new to learn, make or explore.

From studying digital media in London to specialising in UX design in Spain, my path into design has taken a few different turns. Along the way, I've had the opportunity to work across different industries, take on independent projects and learn from people with different perspectives.

Each experience has added something to the way I approach my work, whether it's developing my visual skills, understanding users or learning how to bring an idea from concept to reality. Here's a little more about the education and experiences that have shaped my journey so far.

My strengths

I'm someone who enjoys getting involved in different parts of a project, not just one specific area. I like exploring ideas, figuring out how things can work better and then actually bringing them to life. I'm equally comfortable thinking about the overall direction of a project and getting into the details of making it happen.

I think one of my biggest strengths is being adaptable. I've worked across different industries, teams and markets, and I enjoy learning new things and taking on projects that push me outside what I already know. I also bring a mix of creative thinking and practical problem-solving, which allows me to approach projects from different perspectives and contribute wherever I'm needed.

I'm a bit of a collector when it comes to inspiration.

Pinterest boards, pretty packaging, a beautiful shop window, an interesting menu, vintage finds, interiors, colour combinations or something as simple as a lovely little object.

I'm always saving things, taking photos and noticing details that catch my eye. I love discovering new places, finding unexpected inspiration in everyday things and putting different references together.

My camera roll is probably a pretty good reflection of this.
